Core Beliefs

Articles of Faith

1. We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible verbatim in its original language.

2. We believe in the complete authority of the word of God in all matters of faith and practice.  That what it teaches is to be believed & obeyed; what it neither commands nor teaches is not to be imposed upon the conscience as being religious obligation.

3. We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in 3 Persons: Father, Son & Holy Ghost.

4. We believe that every individual, upon coming to the age of accountability, is a sinner & is therefore in need of salvation.

5. We believe that salvation is the gift of God, “not of works, lest any man should boast”.  That salvation is obtained by repentance & faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord & Savior.

6. We believe that there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood.  Jesus died upon the cross, shedding His blood for our sin; was buried, and rose again on the third day and is now seated on the right hand of God.

7. We believe in the priesthood of all believers, that Jesus is our High Priest & our only approach to God, and that He bids all to come boldly to the throne of grace.

Articles of Faith (cont.)

8. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.

9. We believe that there is to be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, that Hell is the just and everlasting punishment of all Christ rejecters, and Heaven is the home of all those who accept Christ as Lord & Savior, and there will be eternal bliss with joy unspeakable.

10. We believe that Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are Christian Ordinances.

11. We believe in the complete separation of Church & State.

12. We believe in the autonomy of the local Church. Each local congregation is directly responsible to Christ, it’s only head & lawgiver, and therefore is self-governing & is not under the control of any person, Church, body of Churches, or ecclesiastical authority. It should hold title to its own property, make its own decisions as to policy, membership, programs, and expenditure of funds, have the sole authority to choose, elect, call, and dismiss its own leadership, and administer its own discipline. Respecting this autonomy, the Church may enter into relationships with other Churches of like faith in order to promote fellowship & extend evangelism. The Church will give serious consideration to and, if possible, earnest support of programs decided upon by these fellowships.

Purpose

The purpose of this Church is to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.  This shall be accomplished by public worship of God, the preaching of the Gospel, consistent Christian living by its members, personal & united evangelism, personal stewardship, missionary outreach, Christian education, & community service.
